Mantena | 431 West 37th Street

Montreal-based interior designer Andres Escobar, has brought his distinctive brand to Mantena, one of the area’s first luxury rentals at 431 West 37th Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. The stunning 12-story, glass-clad apartment building has 98 residences.

The studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments are notable for their high ceiling heights and floor-to-ceiling windows with complimentary solar shades. Many feature private outdoor terraces or balconies. Each residence is equipped with an in-home laundry.

There is also a lushly landscaped rooftop deck with cabanas and private screening area. In addition, Mr. Escobar has created a sumptuously appointed residents’ lounge, complete with billiards table.

The fitness center is outfitted with top-of-the-line Precor equipment and the dramatic double-height entry lobby is sheathed in warm woods and furnished with Barcelona benches and Pedrali Pasha chairs.

Among the most recent projects designed by Escobar are the adaptive re-use renovation of the original New York Times Building and such signature Manhattan condominium projects as District (111 Fulton Street), Harsen House (120 West 72nd Street), the first LEED certified project on the Upper West Side and The Olcott (27 West 72nd Street), a conversion of an Art Deco hotel.  In addition, Andres Escobar & Associates is responsible for the interior design of The Corner (200 West 72nd Street) and  Z Hotel (Long Island City).
