  1. Got an off topic question for you:

Was discussing on a message board the (1970-1975) TV series The Odd Couple, where the characters Felix and Oscar live on the 11th floor of 1049 Park Avenue. (I believe it was a 2-3 bedroom apartment, and at least 2 bathrooms)

What would an apartment at that address, and of that size cost to buy back then? What would be the cost to rent that apartment back then? And how about in todays prices? Rent? buy?

  2. 1049 Park Avenue was built 1919. It Converted to a Co-operative in 1984. It has a Full Time Doorman 15 Floors with 40 Apartments. I think Oscar and Felix lived in a classix six. A 2 bedroom 2 bath with living room, formal dining room, maids room and entry foyer. There are several in the building with wood burning fireplaces. Back in the 70's it most likely was rent stabalized so it probably rented for under $1,000 per month.
Today it would cost around $2 million to buy and to rent around $10,000 per month. A furnished classic six on the six floor was rented last year for $11,500 a month.
