Sprinkler Disclosure
Governor Cuomo signed a bill that requires all leases include a disclosure of the existence or
non-existence of sprinkler systems in the leased premises. The new law takes effect on 12/3/14. The legislation requires inclusion of the disclosure if the lease is for a property that is residential. The legislation is only applicable to residential leases regarding the presence of sprinkler systems within the leased premises. It applies to all residential leases, so a renewal would therefore have to include the notice. |
