The Pythian is one of the most historic and prestigious condo buildings on New York City's Upper West Side and one of the city's most fabulous buildings.
The Pythian 135 West 70th Street

The Pythian Temple was designed by Thomas W. Lamb, one of the country's foremost designers of movie palaces.

The Pythian is richly decorated in brightly colored, glazed terracotta embellishments depicting figures of antiquity. The Pythian was built in 1927 to serve as a meeting place for the 120 Pythian lodges of New York City.

It was converted to a condominium in 1983 and contains 84 residential apartments.

The conversion and restoration, altered the building's facade by inserting many new windows, but it managed to retain most of its exuberant decorative features.

Every apartment is different and there are four professional offices on the ground floor.
The Pythian has numerous duplexes with soaring ceilings, hardwood floors and many terraces.

Apartments have been renovated with gourmet kitchens and luxurious baths. Open city views facing south, and townhouse views facing north. The building has eleven floors with two elevators, bike room, laundry room, playroom,  lounge. and commons storage.

Current available apartments for sale range from a 608 square foot loft asking: $825,000 to a 5 bedroom, 4,150 square foot penthouse asking $11million.
