Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown tonight and ends at nightfall on Wednesday, October 1st.

Rosh Hashanah which literally means 'head of the year' is the first day of the Jewish New Year 5769.

Rosh Hashanah begins a ten day period of introspection and contemplation culminating in Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.
